The Commissioner for Complaints for Telecommunications Services (CCTS) said in a press release Monday that VOIS! Inc., a small Alberta-based telecommunications company, is continuing to ignore its instructions following a ruling. CCTS said in the release it instructed VOIS to return $208 to a customer in November 2015 following a complaint. The customer was contacted by a collections agency demanding payment of $208 allegedly owed to VOIS. The customer denied owning money, but paid the bill to avoid the possibility of a negative credit report and subsequently complained to the CCTS, the release said. The Commissioner for Telecommunications Services (CCTS) said Thursday that VOIS! Inc., an Alberta-based telecom provider, has breached its regulatory obligations towards its customers. CCTS said in a press release that after an investigation in May 2014, launched due to a customer complaint, it recommended VOIS! credit the customer $640 for early termination and late payment fees that were “deemed illegitimate,” following which VOIS! did not respond.
