Ontario library wins award for hotspot-device lending service

The Kitchener, Ont., public library’s hotspot-device lending service has led it to win the Ontario Library Information Technology Association Project award from the Ontario Library Association. Lesa Balch, senior manager of service development at the library, said in a phone interview Friday that the service, which is called Borrow the Internet, began in October and since then has been “circulated to 112 people.” She said that the public library was able to secure a vendor of record agreement with Rogers Communications Inc. and added that the contract, which was signed for...
