PQ leadership candidate says nationalizing Internet networks a possibility

Martine Ouellet, who is currently running for leadership of Quebec’s Parti Quebecois, says that she would consider nationalizing Internet infrastructure in the province if telecoms don’t improve service and cut prices. The Canadian Press reported Monday that Ouellet said that users should pay one reduced rate for Internet access, which would be even lower for low-income individuals, and that Quebecers should have 1 GB speeds.
