Competition Bureau appoints chief economist

Paul Johnson has been named as the Competition Bureau’s leader of economic analysis, where he will play a key role in merger reviews, the competition commissioner said Monday. In a Monday press release, Johnson, who earned a PhD in economics from the University of Montreal, was announced as the bureau’s new T.D. MacDonald Chair in Industrial Economics.
