Quebecor revenues up on telecom services

Quebecor Inc.’s revenues increased in the second quarter compared to a year earlier with the company reporting $992.5 million in revenues, up $28.7 million, or three per cent, over that time. President and CEO Pierre Dion said in a press release Thursday the increase reflected a “solid performance” in its telecommunications segment. Telecom revenues were up by $38.9 million to $780.4 million, the company reported, while sports and entertainment revenues were also up by $4.6 million to $6.7 million. According to Quebecor, that boost mostly came from revenue generated from events at Videotron Centre, naming rights and Gestev, which is the “official imprint for all shows and events produced by Quebecor.” Revenues in media fell...
