Frédéric Boulanger new ITAC chairman

The Information Technology Association of Canada (ITAC) said in a press release Friday that Macadamian Technologies president Frédéric Boulanger will be its new chairman of the board, replacing Softchoice president and CEO David MacDonald. “As ITAC’s Chair, Fred will continue to set ambitious targets for continued growth in our industry and ensure we continue our leadership role in advocating for increased digital adoption at all levels of government as well as ensuring the industry remains an exciting career choice for young people in Canada,” ITAC president and CEO Robert Watson said in the release. Robert Watson taking over as ITAC president, CEO

Former Saskatchewan Telecommunications Inc. CEO Robert Watson has been tapped to lead the Information Technology Association of Canada (ITAC), the group said in a Wednesday press release. Watson will take over as president and CEO of the industry association on April 18. After five years in the position, outgoing president and CEO Karna Gupta “is of the age that he doesn’t want to work full-time but continue with board positions and give thought leadership within the industry,” ITAC spokesperson Christine Leonard said in an email. Currently, Watson is a director on boards of technology and non-profit organizations such as Tbaytel, StarTech and Prostate Cancer Canada, according to his LinkedIn page.
