Alphabet takes aim at cybercrime

In a blog post on Wednesday, Alphabet Inc.’s ‘moonshot factory’ X announced the details of its latest spinoff company — one that aims to combat cybercrime through the use of big data analytics and machine learning. The name of the company is Chronicle, and it follows other incubated moonshot projects from Alphabet, like Loon and Wing, which aim to design Wi-Fi equipped balloons and delivery drones, respectively.
