Day stands down from Telus board after racism comments

Telus Corp. announced Wednesday that it has accepted the resignation of former federal Conservative MP Stockwell Day from its board of directors, following his appearance on a CBC/Radio-Canada television show.  Day, a former leader of the Canadian Alliance and Alberta cabinet minister, denied that Canada was systemically racist in a Tuesday appearance on CBC’s Power and Politics.   In a news release, Telus said Day’s comments on the program “are not reflective of the values and beliefs of our organization."  Day said on the program that Canada “is not a racist country and...
