CRTC vice-chairman of broadcasting Tom Pentefountas told those at the Future TV Advertising Forum in Toronto Thursday that the industry is entering "an exciting new era in broadcasting" that will allow many industry participants, including advertisers, to "excel in a fast-evolving environment." According to remarks provided by the CRTC, Pentefountas said "there may never be a better time to be in the ad business," giving the examples of programmable advertising on digital platforms, cross-platform campaigns and addressable TV ads that can target particular viewers.
