BBC to launch OTT service in North America

The BBC says it is planning to launch an over-the-top (OTT) video subscription service in North America next year. “Next year, we’re launching a new OTT video service in America, offering BBC fans programs they wouldn’t otherwise get, showcasing British actors, our program makers and celebrating our culture,” BBC director Tony Hall said Thursday at the Royal Television Society Convention in Cambridge, England, according to an email from network spokeswoman Christine Black on Friday.
