Google buys Songza streaming service

Google Inc. has bought Songza Media Inc., the music-streaming service said on its website Tuesday. "Today, we’re thrilled to announce that we’re becoming part of Google," Songza said in the online notice, adding that "no immediate changes to Songza are planned, other than making it faster, smarter, and even more fun to use." A House of Commons heritage committee report on the music industry released Thursday said the government should look at how long the Copyright Board, which sets the rates for use of copyrighted material such as music, takes to make decisions.
