BCE’s Siim Vanaselja to retire next year

BCE Inc. said Tuesday that its chief financial officer, Siim Vanaselja, will retire in the second quarter of next year. The company said in a press release that he will be replaced by Glen LeBlanc, currently chief financial officer of BCE-controlled Bell Aliant Inc. BCE also said the transaction to take control of all shares of Bell Aliant it does not already own is on track to close on or around Oct. 31. Bell said Vanaselja will continue to serve on the board of directors for Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, which is the owner of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors and Toronto FC, and is controlled equally by Bell and Rogers Communications Inc....

Rogers ranked fastest Canadian ISP by PCMag.com

For the second year in a row, PCMag.com has named Rogers Communications Inc. the fastest Internet service provider in Canada. The online technology publication gave Rogers a score of 30.3, which is based on a compilation of download and upload speeds in megabits per second, with the download portion representing 80 per cent of the score and the upload portion representing 20 per cent. PCMag.com said testing for these rankings occurred between Oct. 1 last year and Aug. 13 this year, and each ISP ranked had its service tested from at least 50 different IP addresses.
