$23.3M to improve telecom network in eastern Quebec

Innovation Canada is allocating $11.05 million from its Connect to Innovate program to improve telecom services in the Basse-Côte-Nord region.
The Quebec government will contribute an equal amount and Telus Corp., who will carry out the improvements, will kick in $1.2 million, according to a Thursday press release.
“Upgrading of the network will enable residents to access high-speed Internet and will, at the same time, facilitate the establishment of cellular telephony services,” the release said.
