EU fines Google 2.4B euros

The European Union has fined Alphabet Inc.’s Google 2.4 billion euros — about $3.6 billion in Canadian dollars — for giving itself an “illegal advantage” in its search results.
The European Commission said in a press release Tuesday that “Google has abused its market dominance as a search engine by giving an illegal advantage to another Google product, its comparison shopping service.”
