Rogers Media Inc. announced Thursday the appointment of Ken Whyte as president of Rogers Publishing Ltd. The appointment is effective Sept. 1, 2011. Whyte succeeds Brian Segal, who in April announced plans to retire. Whyte will be responsible for Rogers Publishing properties including Maclean's, Chatelaine, L'actualité, Hello! Canada, and the company's new Sportsnet magazine. Until the appointment, Whyte served as executive vice-president of consumer publishing. Whyte joined Rogers in early 2005 as publisher and editor-in-chief of Maclean's.
