Rogers Communications Inc. has poached a former BCE Inc. executive to replace retiring chief financial officer Bill Linton, the company announced last week. Anthony Staffieri, who most recently served as BCE’s senior-vice president of finance, will replace Linton when he retires in the second quarter of 2012, the Rogers said. While at BCE, Staffieri “led the finance function for the company’s wireless and wireline businesses,” a release said. He previously served as chief financial officer at Celestica Inc., where he was responsible for the Americas, and as a senior partner at Pricewaterhouse Coopers. As Rogers' new executive vice-president and chief financial officer, Staffieri will report directly to CEO Nadir Mohamed. "Tony brings extensive experience in all facets of finance, and a strong track record as a successful financial operator," Mohamed said in a release. “He will be a key asset to our executive leadership team as we deliver on our business strategy in a complex and evolving operating environment." Linton will remain on at Rogers until the end of 2012 as a member of the executive leadership team, “where he will focus on bringing key company initiatives to completion,” the release said.
