Kingston police want greater powers to combat copper wire theft

The police department of Kingston Ont. wants city council to pass a bylaw making scrap dealers responsible for those they buy copper wire from. There have been a rash of copper thefts from telecoms across the country. BCE Inc. lost wire in Kingston earlier this month.
