Telus revenues up, profits shrink in Q1

Telus Corp. revenues increased by 2.6 per cent in the first quarter of 2016, rising to $3.1 billion compared to $3.03 billion during the same period a year earlier, the company said Thursday. In a press release outlining earnings for the three months ended March 31, the company attributed the increase to continued growth in its wireless and wireline operations, which saw revenues grow by 2.5 per cent and 3.7 per cent, respectively. MTS revenues down due to legacy revenue declines

Manitoba Telecom Services Inc.'s third-quarter revenues were down 3.7 per cent, the company reported Thursday. Revenues were $408.4 million for the three-month period ended Sept. 30, down from $424.3 million at the same time a year earlier.
