Spotify defended the compensation it pays to the music industry in a blog post Tuesday, writing that it “has paid more than two billion dollars to labels, publishers and collecting societies for distribution to songwriters and recording artists” since it began in 2008. Spotify launches app to promote Canadian music

Music-streaming service Spotify has launched an app called “Listen like a Canadian” that promotes Canadian music to listeners.
