Huawei invests $2.45M in research at Polytechnique Montréal

Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. announced Friday the creation of the NSERC-Huawei Industrial Research Chair in Future Wireless Technologies at Polytechnique Montréal.

Huawei will contribute $2.45 million, and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) will contribute the same amount, while Huawei “will also add a significant amount of in-kind contributions,” according to a press release.

Huawei opens Regina office

Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. opened an office in Regina to help support business with SaskTel, the company said in a release Tuesday.

The global Chinese telecom company said the new office, whose official opening was Tuesday, will “serve as the sales and support hub for Huawei in the province of Saskatchewan, and will play a key role in supporting Huawei's relationship with SaskTel.”
