The House of Commons standing committee on industry, science and technology has approved a motion to launch a study looking into the slowing down of Apple Inc.’s older mobile devices. NDP MP Brian Masse, who is the vice-chairman of the committee, asked it to look into a change to Apple’s mobile operating system that slowed down older devices. In a press release Tuesday, Masse said the committee passed his motion and “is set to invite Apple and other stakeholders to Ottawa to discuss the impacts of this on Canadian consumers.” Those appearances will take place in the “coming weeks,” the release added....
