OPC looking into Uber data breach

The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) has requested a written breach report from ride-sharing app maker Uber Technologies Inc., it confirmed in an emailed statement on Wednesday. The Attorney General of Quebec is appealing an August decision which ruled that a municipal access agreement between the city of Gatineau and telecom providers is invalid. An Oct. 3 judgement in Quebec’s Court of Appeal joined that appeal with two  brought forward by the telecoms that won the initial case — BCE Inc., Rogers Communications Inc., Telus Corp, and Quebecor Inc’s Videotron — one regarding restitution of fees they have already paid to Gatineau and the other over the judgement not applying to a similar case against Terrebonne....
