Sandvine hits revenue targets, expects solid 2008 growth

Sandvine Inc., a Waterloo provider of packet inspection services for ISPs, expects to hit its revenue target for fiscal 2007 of between $70 and $75 million and is bullish revenue for next year will perhaps surpass $100 million.

Phonetime finalizes purchase of Symphony

Phonetime Inc. has completed the acquisition of Symphony Telecommunications LLC, broadening the reach of the Mississauga-based long distance wholesaler. Under terms of the agreement, Phonetime will pay US$14.19 million in both cash, debentures and common shares for the LD wholesale provider. Symphony has operations in South Africa. Phonetime now processes more than five billion long distance minutes and has more than $150 million in annual revenue.

TRLabs appoints new lead for Saskatchewan

TRLabs has appointed Dave Schroeder as director of Saskatchewan operations, effective immediately. The appointment was announced on December 20. Schroeder succeeds David Milne, who returns to SaskTel after a five-year assignment with the innovation centre. Schroeder, who joins TRLabs from SaskTel, will play a key role in furthering the development of the ICT sector in the Prairie province.

Espial announces board change

Espial Group Inc. made changes to its board of directors late last month. It announced on December 24 that Charles Chi resigned from the board and that he would be replaced by Pierre Donaldson, partner at JLA Ventures, which is a major shareholder in Espial. With more than 22 years experience in the software and high-tech sector, Donaldson brings a wealth of knowledge to the board, holding senior level positions with such firms as Bioscrypt Inc., Descartes Systems Group Inc. and Treasury Services Co.
