CRTC rejects Bell’s challenge against wireless attachment jurisdiction

Frédéric Perron replaces Philippe Jetté at Cogeco

Cogeco Inc. and Cogeco Communications Inc. announced Monday morning that president and CEO Philippe Jetté is retiring immediately from the companies and will be replaced by Frédéric Perron. Perron was most recently president of Cogeco Connexion, the firms’ broadband subsidiary. In addition to being president and CEO, he will serve as a director of both companies.

Class action suit granted over Rogers’ 2021 service outage

A trio of Quebecers has been granted leave to launch a class action suit against Rogers Communications Inc. and two subsidiaries over a service disruption in April 2021. The filing was submitted last month in Montreal.

Feds and Alberta spend $112 million on broadband deployment

The governments of Canada and Alberta announced Tuesday that they are jointly spending $112 million to roll out high-speed internet service to 22,500 households in 166 communities. Indigenous communities make up 3,400 of the total.
