BT aims to raise Canadian profile

Ask Stephen Brash, VP of sales and operations at BT Canada Inc., about his company's major challenges, and he won't point a finger at the competitive landscape or emerging technologies from other network operators. iPhone update: business apps, Rogers tapped

Despite reports that Apple Inc.'s iPhone is anything but a business-friendly device, software provider NetSuite Inc. has created a Web interface that lets iPhone users access business applications on their handsets. The San Mateo company said its new SuitePhone capability works with Apple's Safari Web browser to port AJAX-based GUIs such as drop-down menus, drag-and-drop features and in-line editing to the much-hyped mobile phone. Users would be able to manipulate invoices, expense reports, contracts and other business documents while on the go. Apple started selling the iPhone in the US late last month. Rogers Communications Inc. is expected to be the first Canadian carrier to offer the phone – Rogers is the only GSM network operator in Canada, and the iPhone is a GSM device.
