CRTC seeks info on international roaming rates

The CRTC has issued a request for information on the rates Canadian wireless carriers charge as roaming fees for international coverage. In a June 1 letter the commission set out four questions it wants answered by the various players in the market.

Cogeco 2023 wireless launch debatable: Analyst

It remains unclear if Cogeco Inc. will debut an MVNO offering in its Canadian cable footprint by the end of the year or if the company will have to put it off until 2024, according to a National Bank of Canada analyst.

The CRTC presented its public opinion research (POR) research on telecommunication services in the Far North so late in its ongoing consultation process that BCE Inc. ‘s NorthwesTel skirted opportunities to be held accountable for what residents feel is an unaffordable or bad quality of service.

Catherine Tait reappointed as president of CBC/Radio-Canada

The government has extended the term of Catherine Tait as president and CEO of CBC/Radio-Canada. She will now stay on until Jan. 2, 2025. She has served in the role since July 2018, the first woman to do so in the history of the public broadcaster.
