Meta Platforms Inc. has not experienced any notable drop in Facebook usage despite banning news content from Canadian users, independent surveys have found. The story was initially reported by Reuters news agency.

ISED rolls out broadband across southern Ontario

The Department of Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED) is partnering with the government of Ontario to provide high-speed internet access to hundreds of communities in southern Ontario, it was announced Monday. High-speed is defined as download speeds of 50 megabits per second (Mbps) and upload speeds of 10 Mbps. The two governments are spending $219 million on the projects.

Xplore’s FTTP network 95% complete in Quebec

In a press release Thursday, Xplore Inc. announced that over 27,000 Quebec homes and businesses are now connected to its fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) network, adding that over 95 per cent of construction for the project is complete.

TVO workers on strike with no talks looming

Unionized workers at TVOntario walked off the job on Monday, marking the first strike the public broadcaster has experienced. A total of 74 people, both on-air and off-air personnel, are on the picket lines. The employees have been without a contract since last October.
