Don’t give Corus tangible benefits exemption: CanCon groups

A proposal by Corus Entertainment Inc. to shut down 44 television rebroadcasting transmitters in small rural markets hasn’t found support among intervenors, though content-production industry groups were opposed to the requested exemption to the CRTC’s tangible benefits policy, not the shutdown.

Telecoms argue extending workplace safety to third-party locations ‘absurd’

OTTAWA — Two of Canada’s largest telecoms and CBC/Radio-Canada told the Supreme Court on Monday that it’s “absurd” and “illogical” for a court to force them to ensure the safety of an environment their employees work in but the companies have no control over.

MP asks ISED to force CRTC internet code extension
