CRTC denies final arbitration request in hotel broadcaster’s dispute with Quebecor

The CRTC won’t force Quebecor Inc. into final offer arbitration (FOA) with hotel broadcaster Coopérative de câblodistribution Hill Valley because there are no regulatory requirement for Quebecor to provide its discretionary programming service to Hill Valley for distribution, nor is there a requirement for Hill Valley to distribute TVA Sports.

Bell seeks to align 911 fees in CLEC territory with incumbent charges

BCE Inc. division Bell Canada is filing a Part 1 application with the CRTC seeking to align 911 fees in territories serviced by Bell affiliates that are not the dominant carrier. The three carriers are DMTS, KMTS and Télébec.

CRTC to review roaming charges after Champagne request

The CRTC said Thursday it was going to look into recently-announced hikes in international roaming fees after a complaint by Innovation, Science and Industry Minister François-Philippe Champagne. BCE Inc. subsidiary Bell Mobility and Telus Corp. said earlier this month they would be raising the rates cell phone users pay for roaming while out of the country.

CRTC to look at limiting number pools to 1000

Rodriguez not worried about Biden lobbying against online bills

TBayTel granted delay in rollout of 10-digit dialing

The CRTC Wednesday approved a proposal by TBayTel Inc. that it be permitted to delay the implementation of 10-digit dialing in its area. The regional telecom had made the application late last year.
